March Makeup Bag Favorites

I switch things up in my makeup bag every so often, but there are a few staples I buy consistently. I guess I’m a creature of habit, since my makeup routine is generally the same each day.

Below are a few of the products I’m loving in March. Many are “old faithful’s,” but there are a few new finds for 2020.

Revlon Colorstay Liquid Liner in Blackest Black

Eyeliner is a necessity for me, right up there with milk and bread. I think I look way too tired without it (probably because I am, haha). I made the switch about a year ago from a pencil to liquid because liquid lasts so much longer. I was tired of my pencil smearing throughout the day.

I love the Revlon Colorstay formula because it’s easy to apply and it really stays put, even after sweating at the gym. I also like that it’s easily removed with eye makeup remover.

Covergirl + Olay Simply Ageless Foundation

This is a new addition to my makeup bag that I’ll probably buy again. I’m obsessed with sun protection (just ask my husband), so a foundation with sunscreen is a must.

The Covergirl + Olay duo is amazing: it contains an anti-aging hyaluronic complex, Vitamin C and SPF 28 – what more can you ask for? I love how the formula floats over fine lines and doesn’t settle into them. It’s also really effective at covering scars.

Peek Metalimatte Quick-Drying Blush in A-Boo

I received a Peek blush sample in a Birchbox and I was hooked from the start. This blush is creamy and applies easily and evenly with just your fingertips. I love the subtle metallic glow – it’s just enough to highlight the cheekbones.

L’Oreal Colour Riche Eyeshadow in Sunset Seine

Eyeshadow is a new addition to my routine. I’ve been adding a slight glow to my eyelids with the Sunset Seine shadow. A little goes a long way. The Colour Riche line is widely available at drugstores and I think it’s a great value for the price.

Burt’s Bees Lip Shimmer in Plum

You may know Burt’s Bees from their wide variety of lotions and balms, but if you haven’t tried their cosmetics line yet, you’re missing out.

I love this lip shimmer – it’s 100% natural, so you can feel good about the ingredients you’re using. The color is rich and glides on evenly. It seems to last forever, too!

Essie Expressie Always Transparent Polish

Thank goodness Essie created a nail polish for impatient people like me! One of the reasons I don’t paint my nails more is because I hate waiting for them to dry. It sounds silly, but it’s true. I bought the Always Transparent formula at Ulta recently and it’s quickly becoming a makeup bag staple. It dried in about 20 seconds and gives my nails a subtle shine.

Also, if you’re wondering, the makeup bag is Tartan + Twine from Ulta.
