Can you believe July is almost over?! I can’t. Time is flying by, but we’ve had a great summer so far. Plenty of swimming, cookouts, bike rides and late nights out on the deck. I’ve started seeing some “back to school” ads pop up here and there and I realized I’m not ready for fall weather just yet.
Before the month is over, I wanted to post about a few great summer beauty products I’ve been loving this month.
1. Jergen’s Natural Glow Instant Sun Sunless Tanning Mousse
I haven’t used self tanner since high school. I was hesitant to try it again, afraid I’d turn that awkward shade of orange and have streaks or blotches around my ankles and knees.
Self-tanners have come a LONG way since I was in high school. Jergen’s Sunless Tanning Mousse gives you a beautiful, subtle summer glow without the streaks and messiness. The mousse consistency is very easy to apply with just your hands. I apply it evenly on my legs after my nightly shower and I’ve seen good results. My only advice is to use sparingly on the knees, elbows and ankles.
2. Beauty Protector Protect & Detangle Leave-In Conditioner
This is my all-time favorite leave-in conditioner. It smells amazing (light and flowery) and leaves hair silky and soft.
It’s especially important to use a good leave-in conditioner on pool days where the chlorine can leave your hair dry and brittle. Spritz a little on wet hair and style as usual for best results.
But don’t just take my word for it. This conditioner has over 100k reviews on a Birchbox.com and the average rating is 4.5/5!
3. Nads Natural Hair Removal Gel Wax Kit
I tried home waxing for the very first time this month (which might be surprising since I’m almost 30). I realized recently that I am so tired of shaving, but I’m not quite ready to dive into laser hair removal. So, I read some reviews online and picked up a box of Nads Gel Wax.
I was drawn to Nads for its heat-free formula without messy, hot wax to deal with. Overall, it wasn’t too complicated and I am really happy with the results. It’s been about 3 weeks and I still haven’t had to shave, which has been amazing!
A word of warning, though: DIY home waxing definitely takes some getting used to. It can be tricky pulling off the wax strip because you know it’s going to hurt pretty badly (and I’ll be honest, it does hurt). I’ve heard it gets easier the more you do it, so I think I’d try it again.
4. The Body Shop Shea Body Butter
I loved the Cocoa Body Butter from the Body Shop when I was pregnant, but I think I love the scent of the Shea Butter one even more.
It’s such a smooth and creamy formula to apply and the scent is very subtle and soothing. I think it’s perfect for applying before bedtime. Also a plus, the formula is 100% vegan and made from Community Trade Shea Butter.
